My earliest experience in writing with the express intent of being read by others was the semester I spent (Spring 1988, to be exact) in the Sports section of my college newspaper, The University Star. Here are the only three columns to have survived the decades to be preserved for digital posterity:

It wasn’t until many years later that I was able to (briefly) revive my once-promising career as a journalist, by free-lancing this piece for an obscure and now likely defunct magazine called CMJ New Music Monthly:
