LOST: The End
May 24, 2010
- I’m sure people found many things to complain about in the series finale, but my only complaint is that Faraday and DriveShaft didn’t break into a dramatically overwrought version of “November Rain.”
- Hurley + Ben = BFF
- If Juliet’s maiden name was Burke and her married (divorced) name was Shephard, then where did the last name Carlson come from?
- So, it turns out it wasn’t Jacob who had been protecting the island all these years, but actually an enormous hieroglyphic-covered stone tampon.
- Glad we got to see Vincent in the finale, even though Michael and Walt were inexplicably nowhere to be found – not even in the pews at Our Lady of Perpetual Metaphors.
- Remember how The Brady Bunch eventually resurfaced as a TV-movie years after the series went off the air, in order to show the kids getting married? What’s the over-under on how many years before we see the inevitable wedding of Aaron and Ji-Yeon? LOST: THE NEXT GENERATION!
- For years now, even though he’s been off the show forever, my all-time favorite character has been Mr. Eko. But now that the series is over, I think Eko’s been overtaken by Lapidus. Is there anything that bastard pilot can’t do???
- All in all, I was mostly pleased with the finale. No, it didn’t come close to answering all my questions, and it wasn’t exactly the happy ending I was hoping for, but all things considered it was a fitting end to an excellent series. Not everyone is likely to feel the same, but I found the past six years to be an brilliantly-crafted and exhilarating adventure. There were ups and downs, but the ultimate result was without question one of the finest achievements in television history. Thanks for the ride!
- P.S. I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO glad I don’t have to write these “LOST Thoughts” anymore! I really painted myself into a corner with this crap!

If you didn’t see it, go to abc.com and watch the Jimmy Kimmel show from last night. He had a lot of the cast on for his final thoughts. Pretty funny stuff. “Aloha, LOST!” is the episode.
Gonna watch the recording of it tonight…thanks for the heads-up, Eff-Dub!
